Different systems incorporate different technology.  Yet today's technology allows the different applications to communicate with each other in a common language so the home owner can control all of the systems through one device.

Controllers can be wireless or hardwired to the system.  This device gives you complete control of the available systems that are incorporated into your home integration system.  A controller looks like a small monitor.  It uses touch screen control and menus to move you through your commands.  Several of the devices can be located throughout the premise for your convenience.  When not at home, the system allows you full control of your system through the internet.   

Security system control is accomplished through your home integration system.  It displays all of the commands of a standard keypad.  A specific user code must be entered before the system will respond to any command given.  Once the code is entered you can arm and disarm the system, change the user codes, and even review history so you can see who has accessed your home and system.

Video surveillance of the premise can be accomplished through the controller.  The picture can be displayed on the controller, monitor or TV.  You can record what goes on, review the recorded video and save the video for later display or review.  Pan, tilt and zoom functions can also be controlled.

HVAC interactive thermostats can be set, changed or adjusted from the controller.  Preset temperatures can be entered into the system so arming your alarm system can also adjust the temperature to a lower setting.  The system recognizes that you have left the premise and adjusts the temperature to the setting that you have stored in the controller.  This feature can lead to a significant savings in your energy bill. 

Lighting just like HVAC, can be adjusted to come on and off at specified times and during specific commands.  While you are away, lights can turn on and of automatically at different times, giving the appearance that someone is in the home.  They can be programmed to flash when an alarm occurs or turn on when entering the home.  Just like the thermostat, the control of lighting can save you money on your energy costs.
